Initial Setup:

1. Preparation:

   • Rinse Thoroughly: Before adding denitrate to your aquarium, rinse it thoroughly with dechlorinated water to remove any dust or debris. This helps to prevent cloudiness in the aquarium.

2. Placement:

   • Filter Media Bag: Place the rinsed denitrate in a filter media bag. This makes it easier to handle and maintain.
   • Filter Installation: Insert the media bag into your filter. denitrate can be used in canister filters, media chambers, box filters, or any high-flow area of a trickle filter. Ensure it is placed in an area with good water flow to maximize its effectiveness.

3. Flow Rate:

   • Optimal Flow: For best results, ensure the flow rate through the denitrate media does not exceed 200 liters (50 US gallons) per hour. Higher flow rates may impede the development of an adequate anaerobic environment necessary for denitrification.

4. Initial Dosing:

   • Amount: Use 500 mL of denitrate for every 100-200 liters (25-50 US gallons) of water, depending on the initial nitrate concentration and biological load.

Maintenance:

1. Regular Monitoring:

   • Test Nitrate Levels: Regularly test your aquarium water for nitrate concentrations using a reliable test kit. This helps ensure that the de*nitrate media is effectively reducing nitrate levels.
   • Adjust Dosage: If nitrate levels remain high, consider adding more denitrate or adjusting the flow rate to ensure optimal performance.

2. Cleaning:

   • Rinse During Maintenance: During regular filter maintenance, rinse the denitrate media bag in aquarium water that you have removed during a water change. Avoid using tap water directly as it can reduce the effectiveness of the media.
   • Debris Removal: Gently shake the media bag to dislodge any accumulated debris. This helps maintain optimal water flow and filtration efficiency.

3. Replacement:

   • Longevity: denitrate does not exhaust like chemical filtration media, but its efficiency can decrease over time due to clogging. Replace or regenerate the media if you notice a decline in nitrate removal efficiency.

4. Monitoring:

   • Water Parameters: Regularly test your aquarium water for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels. This helps ensure that the biological filtration is functioning effectively.
   • Adjustments: If you observe elevated levels of these compounds, check the placement and cleanliness of the de*nitrate media and adjust as necessary.

1. How long does DeNitrate last?
   DeNitrate does not exhaust but may become less efficient over time due to pore clogging. Replace when nitrate levels begin to rise.

2. Can DeNitrate be used in both freshwater and marine aquariums?
   Yes, DeNitrate is suitable for both freshwater and marine environments.

3. What flow rate is optimal for DeNitrate?
   For best results, maintain a flow rate of less than 200 L (50 US gallons) per hour.

You may return most new, unopened items within 7 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
