   • Calculate Dosage:Determine the amount of Seachem AmGuard needed based on the volume of water being treated.The standard dosage is 1 capful (5 mL) for every 200 liters (50 US gallons) of water.

2. Application:

   • New Tank Setup:Add Seachem AmGuard directly to the aquarium water when setting up a new tank. This will detoxify any ammonia present in the tap water.
   • Emergency Ammonia Detoxification:In case of an ammonia spike, use Seachem AmGuard to detoxify the ammonia immediately.Use 1 capful (5 mL) for every 200 liters (50 US gallons) of water.

3. Advanced Dosing:

   • Ammonia Alert:If using Seachem Ammonia Alert to monitor ammonia levels, adjust the dosage based on the alert level:
     • Alert:Use 1 capful (5 mL) for every 400 liters (100 US gallons) daily.
     • Alarm:Use 1 capful (5 mL) for every 200 liters (50 US gallons) daily.
     • Toxic:Use 1 capful (5 mL) for every 80 liters (20 US gallons) daily.

1. Regular Monitoring:

   • Test Water Parameters:Regularly test your aquarium water for ammonia levels using a reliable test kit. This helps ensure that the water quality remains safe for your fish.
   • Adjust Dosage:If ammonia levels are detected, use Seachem AmGuard to detoxify the ammonia. Adjust the dosage based on the severity of the ammonia spike.

2. Water Changes:

   • Routine Maintenance:Perform regular water changes to maintain water quality. During water changes, add Seachem AmGuard to the new water to detoxify any ammonia present.
   • Dosage:Use the standard dosage of 1 capful (5 mL) for every 200 liters (50 US gallons) of water.

3. Long-Term Ammonia Control:

   • Use with Stability and Matrix:For long-term ammonia control, use Seachem Stability to establish and maintain the biological filter, and Seachem Matrix to provide a large surface area for beneficial bacteria.
   • Monitor with Ammonia Alert:Continuously monitor ammonia levels with Seachem Ammonia Alert to ensure immediate detection and response to any ammonia spikes.

4. Storage:

   • Keep Seachem AmGuard in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure the cap is tightly closed to prevent contamination.

   AmGuard is ideal for emergency ammonia spike situations and can control ammonia at higher concentrations. Prime offers a wider range of benefits, including detoxifying nitrite and nitrate.

2. Will AmGuard starve the beneficial bacteria in my tank?
   No, AmGuard binds ammonia, making it harmless to tank inhabitants while still being bioavailable to beneficial bacteria.

3. Can AmGuard be used in both freshwater and marine aquariums?
   Yes, AmGuard is safe for use in both freshwater and marine systems.

You may return most new, unopened items within 7 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
