Alert Combo

Initial Setup:

1. Preparation:

   • Unpack Carefully:Remove the Ammonia Alert and pH Alert sensors from their packaging. Handle them with care to avoid touching the sensor surfaces directly, as skin oils can affect their accuracy.

2. Placement:

   • Ammonia Alert:Place the Ammonia Alert sensor visibly anywhere in the aquarium or filter where it can be easily seen. Ensure it is fully submerged in water.
   • pH Alert:Similarly, place the pH Alert sensor in a visible location within the aquarium or filter. It should also be fully submerged in water.

3. Activation:

   • Wait for Activation:Allow the sensors to acclimate to the aquarium water. Ammonia Alert will begin to show readings within about 15 minutes, while pH Alert will take about 30 minutes to respond initially.

Maintenance:

1. Regular Monitoring:

   • Check Daily:Observe the sensors daily to monitor ammonia and pH levels. The Ammonia Alert sensor changes color from yellow to green to blue, indicating increasing ammonia levels. The pH Alert sensor changes color from yellow to orange to red, indicating pH shifts between 5.4 and 8.0.

2. Cleaning:

   • Algae Removal:If algae or debris accumulate on the sensors, gently clean them with a soft, clean material. Avoid using bleach, soap, detergents, or hard objects to clean the sensors, as these can damage them.
   • Avoid Touching:Do not touch the sensor surfaces with your fingers, as this can affect their accuracy.

3. Replacement:

   • Ammonia Alert:Replace the Ammonia Alert sensor after one year of use or if it shows signs of wear or reduced sensitivity.
   • pH Alert:Replace the pH Alert sensor every 3-6 months, or sooner if it shows signs of wear or reduced sensitivity.

4. Testing and Calibration:

   • Verify Functionality:To ensure the sensors are functioning correctly, you can briefly hold the Ammonia Alert sensor over the mouth of an ammonia bottle (e.g., Windex glass cleaner) to see if it changes color rapidly. For pH Alert, ensure it responds to pH changes within 10 minutes after the initial setup.

1. How often should I replace the sensors?
   The sensors should be replaced after one year or if they show signs of fading or wear.

2. Can the Alert Combo be used in both freshwater and marine aquariums?
   Yes, the Ammonia Alert can be used in both freshwater and marine aquariums, while the pH Alert is designed for freshwater use only.

3. Do I need to perform any calibration or maintenance on the sensors?
   No calibration is required. Simply ensure the sensors are clean and free from algae buildup.

You may return most new, unopened items within 7 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.
